Amsterdam is filled with good cafes and restaurants. Everywhere you turn there seems to be a bakery selling fresh breads, a cafe serving up strong brews & tasty treats, or a restaurant luring you in with toasty sandwiches & fresh salads sitting on tables amongst happy people chatting outside. I had a good amount of time in the city, exploring & checking out different places to eat & drink. While there are tons of good coffee shops (I mean actual cafes, not smoke shops ;)), there are a couple that I couldn't help but return to.
Vinnies, located on Haarlemmerstraat (one of two locations), is one of the best. My sister and I would go there in the morning for sweet porridge with blueberries & pomegranate, almond milk lattes, green smoothies, & carrot walnut cake. With tons of organic, vegetarian, & sugar-free options, everyone leaves happy... & healthy. Not only is the food amazing, but the atmosphere is the perfect mix of relaxing & cozy, while still busy enough to keep things interesting.

Another cafe I returned to quite a few times is called Hofje Van Wijs. Tucked away on a street near Central Station, I randomly stumbled upon this unbelievable coffee & tea house. Serving up sandwiches, various breakfast options, salads, desserts, & specialty pancakes, you can find something to enjoy anytime of the day. They have a huge selection of teas & some of the best soy lattes (with whipped cream) I have ever tried! The space is quite large with a few rooms inside & a beautiful patio out front. Purple flowers decorate every wooden table & aromas of spicy teas & fresh coffee make it hard to leave. The relaxing music & smiling faces (both the customers & the employees) make you feel at home. I spent hours at Hofje Van Wijs sipping on my latte & working on my blog, enjoying every minute of it.
